Position Overview:
Canisius University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Criminal Justice for the Spring 2025 semester. This is a teaching-focused position with no research or service obligations. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses, including:
- Introduction to Criminology
- Criminal Justice Seminar
- Criminal Courts
- An additional course in the candidate's area of expertise (if possible, three course preparations)
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
- ABD and JD candidates will also be considered.
- Demonstrated expertise and ability to teach the specified courses effectively.

Salary: $30,000.00 for the Spring 2025 semester
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate’s actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.

Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time faculty’s date of hire and include – health, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time faculty with contribution from University after one year. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time faculty and their qualified dependents.
