Administrative Associate

College of Arts and Sciences

The administrative associate supports various academic departments in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Associate Deans. This is a full-time position.

Key Skills:

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Canisius College BANNER system, iAdvise, Desire2Learn, Qualtrics, Courseleaf, webpage editing software, social media, and other emerging systems and applications.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with various constituencies including: students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the general public.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and follow through.
  • Ability to support multiple departments in multiple locations, including remote support.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general office activities such as scheduling, phone traffic, correspondence, text editing, supply organization and ordering, filing, and mailings.
  • Assist with budgetary matters and logistics, including event planning.
  • Manage correspondence, forms, documents, and meeting schedules for faculty and staff.
  • Manage travel arrangements for faculty using the College’s online travel system.
  • Student support: assist students with advising needs, student events, student travel, and study abroad.
  • Administrative support for Associate Dean: duties related to probation and dismissal students, internships, research projects, and academic integrity issues.
  • Hire, train, and supervise work-study students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time position. Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time employee’s date of hire and include – health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees with contribution from College after one year. Paid holidays, vacation, personal leave and sick leave.  Tuition benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
