Assistant Professor of Finance
The Canisius College Department of Economics & Finance, housed in the AACSB accredited Richard J. Wehle School of Business, is seeking applicants for a Tenure Track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2022. Applicants must possess or soon expect to receive a Ph.D. in Finance. Applicants with specializations in all areas of finance will be considered. The standard teaching load is 3 courses per semester. The compensation package is competitive for AACSB accredited institutions.
Canisius College serves approximately 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The Economics & Finance department is comprised of 9 faculty members and serves 220 undergraduate majors as well as MS in Finance and MBA students. Our student managed mutual fund, the Golden Griffin Fund, has $760,000 of assets under management. Canisius students have been very successful in the CFA Institute Research Challenge competition. The 2015 student team were global champions and the 2019 team reached the global finals. We have 8 Bloomberg terminals in our financial markets lab with 2 additional terminals available for use by the college community.

The position requires effective teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Participation in our student managed faculty supervised mutual fund is expected. Applicants should exhibit potential for publication of scholarly research in peer reviewed journals.
