Teaching Post Doctoral Fellow in Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Canisius College seeks to hire a Teaching Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biochemistry beginning fall 2019. The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
The position requires the applicant to have recently completed or be near completion of a PhD in Biochemistry (with a strong background in chemistry) with research experience in mechanistic areas of biochemistry, bio-organic, biomaterials, and/or analytical biochemistry. The position will be responsible for teaching three course sections per semester (either 1 lecture and 2 laboratory classes or 1 laboratory and 2 lecture classes). These courses include junior level Introduction to Biochemistry with Laboratory (BCH 301/301L), Cellular Biochemistry (BCH 302), Molecular Biology with Laboratory (BCH 403/403L), as well as the sophomore level Organic Chemistry Laboratory (CHM 227L/228L) courses. In addition, the applicant is required to conduct research in biochemistry, involving undergraduate students, during the summer months.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position. Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time employee’s date of hire and include – health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees with contribution from College after one year. Paid holidays, vacation, personal leave and sick leave. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
